Return to “What is ObliNet?”

1. ObliNet — from words to joint action

ObliNet is a project designed to help people understand one another better, reach agreements and achieve goals together.

We are developing a system where anyone can suggest an idea, find like-minded people and take part in a shared endeavour.

The essential aim is to turn agreements into real results.

2. ObliNet — together we can do more

The world is full of people with ideas, knowledge and a desire to make a difference. Yet we often lack mutual understanding and aligned action.

ObliNet is being developed to help people find one another, combine their efforts and turn good ideas into real action.

3. ObliNet — a new infrastructure for interaction

ObliNet is a project for a new infrastructure connecting people, organisations and artificial intelligence.

Its central idea is to move from disconnected decisions and promises to aligned action based on clear commitments, interdependencies and verifiable results.

The aim is to combine participants’ freedom and autonomy with shared responsibility for the outcome.

4. Why people misunderstand one another

People often use the same words but give them different meanings. This leads to misunderstandings, conflicts and unfulfilled promises.

Even when everyone seems to have understood one another, each person may have a different picture of what was said.

Important questions remain unasked, expectations unspoken and the conditions of agreements unclear.

That is why even well-intentioned people often encounter misunderstandings and conflicts.

5. How ObliNet helps build mutual understanding

ObliNet proposes a new way of interacting with the help of artificial intelligence.

AI helps each participant express their needs, understand another person’s position, identify contradictions and clarify uncertain issues.

Participants gradually develop a shared understanding of what they want to achieve, what each is willing to do, under what conditions and how they will know that the agreement has been fulfilled.

The essence of ObliNet is to turn people’s different understandings into aligned action that is clear to everyone involved.

6. Necessary and sufficient detail

The central idea of ObliNet is that successful interaction requires participants to keep aligning their understanding.

Artificial intelligence helps identify ambiguities, differences in understanding, mutual expectations and dependencies between people’s actions.

At each stage, participants agree on precisely the details that are necessary and sufficient for mutual understanding and for the activity to continue.

This does not mean agreeing on every possible detail, but only on those without which participants cannot understand one another accurately enough and act in alignment.

7. Continuity of mutual understanding

ObliNet is conceived as a system for continuously building and maintaining mutual understanding throughout joint activity, rather than a mechanism for making a one-off agreement.

The necessary and sufficient details are aligned both before an activity begins and while it is under way.

As circumstances change, both the agreements and their associated commitments are refined.

When new circumstances, questions or disagreements arise, the system helps identify and discuss them and, where necessary, revise the agreements.

Mutual understanding thus becomes a continuous process accompanying joint activity, rather than a single event.

8. Finding questions participants have not yet asked

ObliNet should help participants answer questions as they arise and also discover questions they have not yet thought to ask one another.

This AI capability could be crucial to achieving the necessary and sufficient completeness of mutual understanding without endless discussion of insignificant details.

At the same time, AI should not keep demanding clarification indefinitely.

Its task is to help determine which issues really need agreement now and which can remain open until they become significant.

This combines sufficiently complete mutual understanding with the natural flow of human communication.
